In-person Parent and Family Orientation

Join our in-person Parent and Family Orientation to connect with other Temple families, discover campus resources, and meet University staff and administration. Sessions coincide with First-year Orientation and students must register for an available student orientation session via TUportal. Please be mindful that not all schools/colleges will be advising at each Orientation session and your student will only be able to select a session which their school/college is participating in.

Registration for Parent and Family Orientation will be available in May. Please check back!
In-person orientation includes a nominal fee covering meals, materials, and parking. If you have any concerns about the registration fee, please reach out the to request a fee waiver. While children 12 and under attend for free, the program is not designed with young children in mind and they are not provided with separate activities.

Overnight housing for family members is not provided. For discounted accommodations, consider booking with a university-approved hotel.

Virtual Parent and Family Orientation


Virtual Parent and Family Orientation includes:

  • Spotlight Series: weekly emails highlighting campus resources.
  • Ask the Experts webinars: Ask questions to department representatives.
  • Family-to-Family panels: Gain insights from Temple Family Council members.
  • Ask an Owl panels: Get student perspectives on the Temple experience.

Parent and Family Orientation FAQs

Is there a cost to participate in Parent and Family Orientation?

For in-person Parent and Family Orientation there is a nominal registration fee to attend which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, a parent reception, a coffee break, parking, and Temple swag. The virtual Parent and Family Orientation experience is free and includes weekly spotlights from campus partners and webinars from June to August.

 

I registered late. Will I still be able to see all the previous Spotlight Series posts?

Yes! All Spotlight Series Posts are available for you to review in the Parent and Family Experience Portal at any time. 

 

Can more than one family member register for Parent and Family Orientation?

Yes, all family members and student supporters are welcome to participate! For in-person Parent and Family Orientation, children 12 and under may attend the program free of charge. However, please keep in mind that the program is not designed with young children in mind and that they are not provided with separate activities.
