Students living within 150 miles of Temple's Main campus in Philadelphia will attend an in-person First-Year Orientation. We encourage all students, including those more than 150 miles from campus, to join in-person First-year Orientation if you are able to!
When will it happen?
First-Year Orientation sessions will take place between June 30, 2025 and July 31, 2025. The dates available to you are based on your school and college and distance from campus. You will see a list of currently available dates for you when you log into the reservation system via your TUportal Next Steps channel.
Session details and sample schedule
Check-in time: 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
Location: Temple Performing Arts Center (1837 N Broad St., Philadelphia, PA, 19122)
Parking: provided in the Liacouras Garage (1710 N 15th St, Philadelphia, PA 19122)
Meals:
- Please plan to eat breakfast on your own before check-in
- Lunch will be provided at the Esposito Dining Center at Johnson and Hardwick Halls
The program will end at 5:00pm
What to bring:
- 9-Digit TUID number
- AccessNet username and password (log in for TUPortal/TUmail)
- Writing utensil (pen or pencil)
- Casual and comfortable clothing and shoes (don't forget to check the weather!)
- Please do not bring: alcohol, drugs, or weapons; pets; valuables or expensive electronics
Overnight Early Arrival
Traveling from a distance? If you live more than 150 miles from Temple's main campus you may opt for an Early Arrival and arrive the night before your scheduled First-Year Orientation session and stay in on-campus housing for a $25 early arrival fee.
