As a new transfer student, you will attend a Transfer Orientation to meet new people, learn how you can get involved as a Temple student, and register for courses.
Curious about Transfer Orientation? It's a half-day experience offered virtually and/or in-person depending on your major - that includes the following.
Academic advising and registration for fall courses
Meeting other new transfer students in your school/college
We’ll also have other opportunities for you to meet new people and learn about campus resources throughout the summer and at the start of the semester as part of Weeks of Welcome.
When will it happen?
Transfer Orientation sessions will take place from mid-May through mid-August either in-person or on Zoom. Sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Each school and college has specific session dates and students register for a session based on the school or college to which you have been admitted. All sessions occur during weekdays (Mondays-Fridays) and are 3-4 hours in length.
Note: To be eligible to register for and participate in an in-person Orientation session, you must be compliant with the COVID-19 vaccine requirement. For more information about Temple's vaccination policies, including guidance on how you can upload your COVID-19 vaccine information, visit our Student Health Services website.
What will you need?
- A device (computer, laptop, or tablet) that has audio functionality.
- Access to internet
- While not required, we recommend the use of headphones to avoid background noise
We want to ensure that ALL students are able to fully participate in Orientation. If there are questions or concerns about how we will deliver orientation content, please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com. If you will require accommodations for placement assessments or your advising session, please visit the Disability Resources and Services website for instructions on requesting accommodations: https://disabilityresources.temple.edu/.
Ready to go? More details will be shared via email in April about next steps and registration instructions.
