Students may be required to take certain Placement Assessments prior to their first semester. To determine which Placement Assessment you are required to take, please refer to your Next Steps Channel on your TUPortal. Transfer students may also refer to placement test exemptions on your Evaluation of Transfer Credit statement (mailed to your home address from the Admissions Office).
If you have not received your Evaluation of Transfer Credit statement, you can log in to the Online Placement Assessment system and view the list of tests. A red 'REQUIRED' will be listed next to the tests you are required to complete.
PLEASE NOTE: Regardless of your exemption(s) from Placement Assessments, all Transfer students are required to log in to the Online Placement Assessment system and complete the New Student Questionnaire (NSQ) in order to register for a Transfer Advising Session or Transfer Student Orientation.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How can I prepare for Placement Assessments?
This Placement Assessment website has more information about the Math, English, and Foreign Language Placement Assessments. This website does not contain the link to the actual Placement Assessments. The link to the assessments will be available through The Next Steps Channel of your TUPortal.
When can I complete my Placement Assessments?
The online Placement Assessment system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week April through August (for students starting in the fall semester) and November through January (for students starting in the spring semester). We strongly recommend you complete the Placement Assessments as soon as possible (in order to register for a Transfer Advising Session).

When do I receive my results?
Transfer students will receive the results during their Transfer Advising Session or Transfer Student Orientation. The results may be used to place you at the appropriate subject level for English, Math and Foreign Language courses.

If you require accommodations for Placement Assessments, please read the Disability Resources and Services website and follow the instructions for receiving accommodations PRIOR to completing your placement assessing.
