General Information for Students:
New Student Orientation for Spring 2018 students will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018. Registration for orientation sessions begins October 30, 2017. Before students can register for their New Student Orientation, they must complete the following steps as listed on their Next Steps Channel on TUPortal. - Pay university deposit
- Activate your Temple University AccessNet Account
- Activate your official TUmail email account
- Submit your OWLCard photo online
- Complete Placement Assessments (if applicable) and the New Student Questionnnaire
- Complete the Temple Preview online
- Register for New Student Orientation

Orientation includes: presentations, academic advising, course registration, social activities, and small group discussions covering a wide range of topics related to the academic and co-curricular experience. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for all attendees.
Students are expected to attend the entire orientation program including all presentations and small group discussions. Students who miss part of orientation, arrive late, or need to leave early may be asked to make up the missed portion, and/or may be unable to register for classes.
Ambler Campus Students: Please contact Temple University Ambler directly at 267-468-8200 to schedule an individual orientation and advising session.
New students living on-campus will be permitted to move-in to their Spring 2018 housing assignment on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Updates about Spring 2018 Move-in can be found online at: https://housing.temple.edu/resources-and-services/fall-and-spring-move-in. Please check this website regularly after the New Year for these updates.
Students attending orientation sessions are expected to abide by all policies outlined in the Temple University Student Conduct Code, including the Drug and Alcohol Policy. This policy prohibits the unlawful use of alcohol and drugs, as well as the use of and possession of alcohol and drugs on-campus and in University residence halls.
