Mission, Vision, and Values

Mission:

Orientation, New Student & Family Programs supports the Division of Student Affairs’ philosophy to engage, develop, and retain students through the intentional design and implementation of strategic initiatives rooted in the holistic orientation, transition and retention of all incoming Temple University students in partnership with parents, families, and support systems.

Vision:

We aspire to increase student retention and matriculation from their first year to second year by means of acclimating students to college life and urban living through innovative programming. These initiatives will lead to OTR trends within the Philadelphia region.

Goals/Objectives:

  1. Engage new students and families in their acclimation to Temple and the surrounding Philadelphia community, from enrollment through commencement.
  2. Facilitate and enhance students’ academic, social, and personal development through intentional relationships and need-based programming.
  3. Educate stakeholders in their roles and responsibilities as a continued resource to develop and retain students in transition.
