Freshmen International Student Orientation

Welcome International Students

Welcome to Temple University, New Owls! We are excited for you all to join us here on campus, and hope that you are excited to join the Temple community. Our office is here to assist you in your transition to the institution through orientation and beyond. On this page, you will find information about New International Student Orientation and other new student programs on Temple's campus. Please note that international students’ orientation includes a mandatory immigration session, as well as general university orientation.

International Orientation: August 21st - August 22nd

Mandatory orientation includes: presentations, academic advising, course registration, social activities, and small group discussions covering a wide range of topics related to the academic and co-curricular experience.

Housing and Meal Accommodations:

Housing in a university residence hall will be provided for all student during their orientation and meals will be served in a university dining center. There is no fee for students to attend orientation.

Students are expected to attend the entire orientation program including the overnight portion, all presentations, and small group discussions. Students who cannot arrive in time to attend the orientation should contact the International Student Affairs office at intl@temple.edu explaining the circumstance (VISA, flight, etc).

Student Conduct:

Students attending orientation sessions are expected to abide by all policies outline in the Temple University Student Conduct Code, including the Drug and Alcohol Policy. This policy prohibits the unlawful use of alcohol and drugs, as well as the use of and possession of alcohol and drugs on-campus and in University residence halls. Violations of this policy will be referred to Campus Safety Services and the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards. View the Student Conduct Code.
